Stanley’s Long Distance Walks to combat HIV stigma.

Stanley quickly realised that many people face barriers to accessing HIV/AIDS services due to their location. To combat this, Stanley began long distance walks where travels to rural communities by foot with his NGO where they conduct health education activities coupled with HIV services like testing.

The Stanley 370

In 2019, Stanley walked over 370 kilometers in just eleven days. The “Stanley 370” stretched across 12 villages in the Southeast corner of Botswana. This was just one of Stanley’s annual walks, and served as the inspiration for Ke Mo Leseding. Throughout Stanley’s walks, he stops in villages, and conducts sexual health education alongside his NGO, Thusang Bana Centre. During the Stanley 370, the health education team reached over 1,600 individuals with HIV/AIDS messaging and distributed over 20,000 male and female condoms to remote areas that typically don’t have access.
